Gallery > Oil Pastels
Working with oil pastels is a really satisfying process as it is very immediate and physical and the colours retain their purity and vibrancy because they are not ‘mixed’ in the same way paint is. The small selection shown below represents part of a larger series of images done on brown paper which were made after a visit to Cornwall in August 2004. They reflect my response to the mystery of the landscape, the wonderful light and the joys of afternoon tea!
